Fox News – Unfair and Unbalanced

Last night I watched the first Republican debate on Fox News.  The media reported over 24 million people watched the fiasco.  A pre-debate included the candidates who fell outside the top ten polling numbers.  After seeing the “top ten debate” it was highly enlightening to realize that Carly Fiorina should have been in the “top ten” category.  I hope now that she has had a chance to strut her stuff in such an eloquent manner that she will be a major player in the game.

As for the prime time “top ten”, my first comment has to be that the Fox News slogan of “fair and balanced” was anything but that during the debate last night.  After being a Fox News viewer for years, I was quite stunned to watch the behavior of three of my favorite news anchors: Chris Wallace, Megyn Kelly and Bret Baier.  The slogan of “fair and balanced” was so diluted it trickled down a slippery slope right into the toilet bowl.  They seemed so obsessed with the intent of destroying the credibility of Donald Trump that in my eyes they destroyed the high caliber of once was a fair and balanced news media.

Many of you probably watched the debate and know about the raised hand question asking the contenders to indicate by a show of hand that they would not unequivocally support the winner of the nomination or enter the race as an independent.  Everyone knew Donald Trump would never agree to such a thing and that’s why they asked it.  Their goal was to put him on the spot and get a reaction from the public downgrading his ratings.

Now I am not in any way a fan of Donald Trump but the Fox News agenda was obviously slanted to malign his candidacy and ruin his poll numbers. The questions directed at Mr. Trump were pointed deliberately about his character, his verbal missteps and his strong language about women in particular.    The questions were not designed to discover his real ability for handling the job of POTUS.

I thought Ted Cruz was a tremendous debater and overall the top of the group in that category. I believe he is a man that will do what he says.  Mike Huckabee and Marco Rubio appeared relaxed and confident, but Jeb Bush lacked spark and seemed nervous.  Chris Christie was his typical pompous self and Rand Paul put himself on the defensive much too early in the game.  Scott Walker was frank and honest and he and John Kasich both have impressive records in their respective states of Wisconsin and Ohio.

Ted Cruz was fantastic

Of all the candidates in the top ten, only two were not politicians:  Donald Trump and Ben Carson.  One of them was overtly targeted and the other was categorically ignored.

Ben Carson, I believe, had a mere four questions yet he answered each one better than or as adequately as any of the other candidates.  I watched amused as Scott Walker nodded his head and smiled at each of Carson’s answer.  It was quite charming.  Carson was hands down the most intelligent man on the podium. I was amazed with the few questions he was given how he was able to convey his message of quiet wisdom.  He believes that God has directed him to pursue the presidency and is willing to continue as long as the door stays open for him to do so.  He wasn’t given the chance to expound on his knowledge but made a strong comment that really made me think.  Carson said, “Hillary Clinton counts on the fact that people are uninformed”.

It was an interesting thought as most people in our country are not educated on what is happening in America.

Hillary Clinton, along with Barack Obama have been touted as advocates of the writings of Saul Alinsky who states in his  Rules for Radicals; Reveille for Radicals, the eight levels of control necessary to create a social state.  They are:

1)Healthcare — Control healthcare and you control the people.

2) Poverty — Increase the poverty level as high as possible.
Poor people are easier to control and will not fight back if you
are providing everything for them to live.

3) Debt — Increase the debt to an unsustainable level… that
way you are able to increase taxes, and this will produce more
poverty.

4) Gun Control — Remove the ability for citizens to defend
themselves from the Government.  That way you are able to
create a Police State.
5) Welfare — Take control of every aspect of people’s lives…
(Food, Housing and Income).

6) Education — Take control of what people read and what
people listen to – take control of what children learn in school.
7) Religion — Remove the belief in God from schools and the
government.

8) Class Warfare — Divide the people into the wealthy and the
poor.  This will cause more discontent, and it will be easier to
take (Tax) the wealthy with the support of the poor.

It really sets you back on your heels when you realize these concepts are slowly becoming a part of the United States and most people don’t seem to care or even notice.  We’re not there yet folks, but our country is in real trouble.  We are in danger of losing our freedoms.

We need to change Washington and remove the career politicians on both sides of the aisle who are slowly destroying America.  

So in summary I’d have to give my regards to Carley Fiorina, Ted Cruz and Ben Carson. I’d have to give my regrets to Fox News as they were the clear winner but only in the revenue department. Does the atmosphere of this first debate really mean that Fox News doesn’t want a change for America?  Are they only on the side of  the career politician?

I wonder now that daddy has turned the reins of Fox News over to his sons if we’ll see even more unfair and unbalanced reporting.  Then perhaps it’s time to say goodbye.
